We’re excited to announce the launch of Base Skills: Ready for Work, a FREE 13-week course designed to equip eligible job seekers with the tools they need to confidently step into the workforce. Delivered by The Base Support Services Inc. in partnership with the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative, this program is a game-changer for our local community.
What is Base Skills: Ready for Work?
This hands-on, supportive program is tailored for those who face barriers to employment and need that extra boost to get job-ready. Across the 13 weeks, participants will be guided through:

🧭 Career Mapping & Job Search Techniques
💬 Workplace Confidence Building
🤝 Individual Support to Keep You On Track
With four program intakes per year (starting 1st May 2025), there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to a diverse range of individuals including:
Young people (15–24) no longer at school
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
People with disabilities
Culturally and linguistically diverse individuals
Disadvantaged and mature-age job seekers
Recently released prisoners
Underemployed or underutilised workers
Eligibility criteria applies, including being an Australian citizen or permanent resident (or on an eligible visa) and experiencing employment barriers or long-term unemployment.
