Here at the Base Support Services Inc., the FAYSS team (Family and Youth Support Service) is endeavoring to find new exciting and educational ways to engage with our young people, promoting and facilitating programs to help make healthy choices. It’s wonderful to hear about the positive impact the FAYSS team is making by delivering the Love Bites Program. The program aims to equip young people with the knowledge needed to have respectful relationships. Providing young people with a platform to explore and discuss respectful relationships is crucial in fostering healthy choices and preventing abuse and violence in their lives.

Fully qualified and trained staff have taken the Love Bites program to the West Moreton Youth Detention Centre targeting youth who are facing challenging circumstances. Providing this training in a detention centre can have a positive impact on young people’s lives, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to develop healthy relationships even in difficult circumstances.

The creation of strong and meaningful messages on posters reflects the engagement and understanding of the program’s participants. These messages serve as powerful reminders and motivators for not only the young people who created them but also for others who may see them to promote a culture of respect.

Overall, the efforts of the FAYSS team, in collaboration with NAPCAN, are commendable. Empowering young people with knowledge and skills to foster respectful relationships is essential to building a safer and healthier community. It’s heartening to see organizations working together to make a difference in the lives of youth and promote a future free from violence and abuse.
